Koni's Art Gallery of Trees

Please browse, and check out some of the Art work I’ve created over the last few years.

Also, I have even given them out to family for Christmas one year a a gift in the baskets I put together every year for them.

All were done several years ago. Since my photo setup was a not all the best, I improvised a little. You’re now seeing for yourself.

As a result, the idea came to me as I was trying to come up with crafty ideas for my obsessive button collection.

However, for this idea to work, I needed different size buttons, from large to small.

This seemed a bit of a challenge for most of the buttons I have are in the medium button size range.

Plus, since I like more natural things, I thought natural buttons created out of wood made the best sense when making a tree.

I also decided to use wire to connect the buttons. This would make the tree more stable and easier to work with.

Along with wire, I decided to incorporate a wired loop at the top of each tree. Also, this gives the opportunity to hang them up; Or, maybe on a Christmas Tree!

Next came what to attach them to? So, I started off with precut Birch wood pieces I got at my local hobby shop.

After working with what to attach, there was how to attach the tree to the base. Whatever that may be!

I chose to use tiny tack nails. Also, I was able to twist bottom of wires into loops to nail in, barely sometimes.

But it worked for me. First, I started off with 6 buttons then went to 8. Also I switched between 16 – 20 gauge wire in different colors (kinds).

All the trees were made with the following kinds of wood turned into buttons: Oak, Plum, Maple, Walnut, Cherry, Olive, and more.
