SKIN: My Healing Journey

Hey everyone! Just wanted to grab your attention on Psoriasis SKIN: My Healing Journey. And, yes this is all about how the newest Healing SKIN Balm has actually been healing my Psoriasis. So, I want to tell & show you the journey I have been on and still on. Albeit, this is my healing journey with an amazing over the counter product with medicinal qualities above and beyond the others.

And so it begins! My Journey started several years ago when I was diagnosed with Psoriasis by a dermatologist. I was prescribed some topical meds, which worked for the most part, as the location started in the back of my hairline. As time passed other areas flared up, causing me to have to take pills. And now, with the most recent on my lower right leg or ankle foot area. You will see from the photos I share with you below.

One very key component is the fact that this healing balm can actually let your SKIN breathe as it heals. Resulting in seeing faster healing times and less scabbing and flaking.

However recently, due to Covid-19 and the aftermath I found my family without Health Insurance and was no longer able to afford the $600+ monthly bill for the Psoriasis internal and external meds. So, I did what most would do, I stopped taking it after running out. And, as a result, the Psoriasis on my leg just got worse. It was at the point where my SKIN was cracking so bad, it was hard to bend my foot at the ankle; back and forth even.

Let the SKIN Healing Journey Begin…

DAY 1 ~

SKIN; Day 1 Foot Picture

Received my Healing Balm in the mail. Opened and loved the packaging. The duo was cute and compact. Thus, traveling with it will be really easy and convenient. Okay, I started with a couple of squirts of the cleanser. Rubbed it on my leg and it lathered a tiny bit, rinsed with water. Patted leg slightly dry and applied a light coat of the Healing Balm to the affected area.

It was not enough, as all the balm soaked in very quickly, as you might imagine from the picture. So, I put another heavier coat of balm on. It was very soothing on my leg. An additional coat was added before heading to bed for the night. Of course with my leg hanging out until I fell asleep.

DAY 2 ~

Started the day with the duo again. Since I’ll be leaving today on a trip with my sister and heading to mom’s house for a day or two, I put on a heavier coat. Also noticing the area is looking not as dried and cracked, especially before starting.

Some of the itchiness has subsided. However, at night it seems to be a different story. And, as I write this I’m unsure of whether or not it makes a difference if you cover it or not. Thus, my choice was to leave it uncovered, even overnight. {Note ~ last day seeing cracked SKIN ~ yeah!} Can you believe, already?

DAY 3 ~

SKIN; Day 3 Foot Picture

Again I used the duo to start my day. Many times when washing the area of my leg I will leave most of the water on the rinsed area. And only pat dry the area around the Psoriasis. This way it is really moist when applying the balm and softens the area better in my opinion.

Also, when I notice or feel the area is drying out, I will apply more of the healing balm. Usually 3 – 5 times throughout the day. But, I usually use the duo both in the morning when I get up and again in the evening before going to bed. Still seeing redness, but as bright red.

DAY 4 ~

It seems that with each day, the redness is slightly diminishing, especially before putting anything on the affected area. And, continuing to see the tattoo underneath come back is amazing, no matter to what extent.

Some of my itching, I think, is coming from the healing process. And trying hard not to scratch. Itching is no joke! Also, I wanted you to know that there is absolutely NO PAIN in this process. The duo is very soothing and feels wonderful on my SKIN.

Interim Journey Note ~

Prior note to this SKIN – Healing Journey is that many times, in lieu of scratching, I would pick at the dried cracked area to create pain. This would compensate for the itching and scratching. I learned to deal with it this way for the past year or so. Such a vicious cycle…Glad to find something to possibly break it!

DAY 5 ~

Definitely started out the day with my dynamic duo. The redness is finally calming down, meaning it’s not so bright red or raw. Actually, I am able to see the healing taking place as I added more of the healing balm.

And, for the first time in over a year, the tattoo underneath was hidden by the expanding patch of Psoriasis. I thought I had completely lost that part of an old tattoo I’ve had since I was much younger.

DAY 6 ~

Again, I applied the healing balm first thing this morning to jump start the healing process for the day. As you know when sleeping, most of the balm that does not absorb into your SKIN gets rubbed off.

Then, I had an itchy and scratching session in the evening. So, I went and cleansed the area and applied a new coat of balm. A little earlier than planned, but soothed the itching and that’s what I care the most about at this particular time.

DAY 7 ~

SKIN: My Healing Journey

Another day, another start with my dynamic duo! Overnight, either soaked in or rubbed off, by morning I thought it was drier than usual. The first coat soaked into my SKIN rather quickly. Even after leaving some water on the affected area before applying the balm. So, I had to add an additional heavy coat of healing balm.

The older portion of my tattoo under the Psoriasis is slowly coming back again in more detail.  Albeit, a faded version of the original. But, nonetheless, just as amazing at this point.

DAY 8 ~

Another daily ritual with my duo. Not so fast. Unfortunately, I had to run to the bank before my team meeting and wanted to make sure it was done. (Only a few minutes away from where I live.) Next, yes my daily duo.

Also, I used up the rest of the 5ml jar of healing balm and had to open a new one. Guess I should have bought the 2oz jar instead? Wow, my leg was thirsty!  I will know for next time now.

Interim Journey Note Too ~

Another note to this SKIN – Healing Journey. By this time, I was really looking at my ankle. And, wait what?  I swear I thought I saw some small hairs growing in the affected area. How amazing is that? I hadn’t had to shave that area in such a long time.  Glad to see this coming back.

And, I thought for sure I would lose my tattoo, as well as the feelings I had on my skin. When my SKIN was at its worst, I was unable to feel myself touching my skin. Now, I’m getting the feelings back in my ankle, 100% too. Wow, incredible!

DAY 9 ~

Day 9 Foot pic

Today I decided to just put on the healing balm. My ankle looked better than it has in so long. I took a couple pics after applying the balm. But again late in the afternoon it was itching, so I went to my dynamic duo. And, wallah, all is good again!

SKIN: My Healing Journey

So strange, not to be picking at my SKIN when it’s itchy.  However, I have a new habit forming. And, it is a way better solution than what I have done in the past. My newest habit I’m sort of proud of and that is MY DYNAMIC DUO!!! I try to use this as my go-to instead of scratching.

DAY 10 ~

I am pretty sure by now, you know, how I will be starting my day. Of course, again with the duo! Go figure. And today, I can truly say, that the redness has pretty much gone away. What is hard to show you in pictures is that it’s more on the brown side, than red.

This is due to the Psoriasis and when it does heal in spots it leaves the remaining SKIN a shade of brown, as though permanently bruised. Although, I did have a spot on my left leg a few years ago. The brown was pretty faded to hardly there when I got a newer tattoo and covered most of it though.

DAY 11 ~

Looks like today will be to follow my daily routine, as usual. And, I have not had to keep adding more healing balm continually throughout the day. Three to four times a day all together seems to be doing the trick for now.

SKIN: My Healing Journey

Also, the dry itchiness is gone, and the healing up itch has greatly diminished. All that is left is the itching from the Psoriasis itself. And even that has gotten less, for now. But, don’t get me wrong, I still have itchiness from time to time.

DAY 12 ~

Well guys and gals, this is the last day of SKIN: My Healing Journey! It definitely has been an incredible twelve days. I am so happy now to continue from here on healing my ankle. And again, you know how may day starts off, like all the other prior ones.

Now, I only need to put on a good coat and go on about my day. Sometime in the afternoon I added more balm to the area as it had soaked in like usual, just at a much slower pace now. And, another good coat about an hour before I go to bed, usually using the DUO.

And, one final picture side-by-side on Day 1 & Day 12
