Tour of Textile Arts Gallery C

Crafting more…thanks for continuing on to my next Tour of Textile Arts Gallery C! I created these next few creations a few months ago. I had been online looking for my next decorative stitch, when I came across an amazingly easy stitch.

However, it was not shown in the form of a blanket or throw. It was this very originally cool shaped purse or clutch, depending on how you hold it. Or, by even adding a strap makes it so versatile. I fell in love with it immediately. So, I went to the video and watched. Then I went to work, thinking about all the possibilities from one design.

Tour of Textile Art Gallery C ~ “Golden Lady”

Tour of Textile Arts Gallery C - rounded small gold color crocheted purse.

I started with a heavier weight yarn in a gold color. One of the cutest features was the added handles, that just sets off this creation. Also these were made with the same gold yarn. This was the first of several to follow. And, I think the addition of a snap closure to this one would be better, but haven’t decided completely.

Now, I was on a roll! Thinking about the different yarns I have of single or double skeins or rolls, mostly thick and heavy worsted yarn. And, I had some ideas I tried. These only used the basics learned in creating the first one, then adding some of my own styles. Giving a twist with each one was fun and using the yarn itself to help me decide what twist to give was even more fun.

Yes, the best part was the ability to try one of these bags at an upcoming business fun event in Orlando, Florida. Can you guess which one? To help, I wore a glittery looking green short v-neck dress with short ruffle sleeves and black heels. Click on the correct picture to reveal the correct handbag I chose for the evening. Have Fun & Good Luck!

“Fuzzy Multicolored Gray Girl”

Okay, the next one created was the same as the first one, only I used a much chunkier gray yarn. And, so it came out much larger. I also combined another skein of yarn throughout. It is black and multicolored, of which has some amazing color frays weaved in it. This second color is a mixed single skein of yarn I had gotten on clearance, I think. Anyway, it turned out pretty nice too. However, the handles were created only in the gray color. So cute!

Next, was the same pattern, but for this one I added a panel that crosses over from back to front; a flap closure. The flap closure was attached on the inside of the back. Along with the panel, I added a buttonhole and found an old button to sew on; a shimmery gray and silver one. It came out really nice. I used a chunky yarn again, but this is a super soft multicolored yarn; gray, cream and blue gray colors are swirled throughout the skein of yarn. I love this one as it would go well with many outfits!

“Black Beauty Clutch”

Now, last but not least, for my final purse project I added the flap closure again. But, this time I attached it to the back of the backside of the clutch. However, I chose to go with a wider body for this one. And, I decided to leave off the handles and turn it into a clutch handbag. Because of this, I chose to close up the sides of the clutch. This one was done using a bulky skein of black. I chose to go fancy, and added a black with five rhinestones that truly shines with bling. This one turned out pretty amazing as well.

I had so much fun creating these and I hope you enjoyed viewing this gallery. There is so much more to show you, as I continue to create crocheting and yarn projects. Thanks for stopping by this Tour of Textile Arts Gallery C!
